Now a coffee bar in Amsterdam for those of you who haven't been, is not a place where you just drink coffee. It's the place to get slaughtered. You have every type of weed, hemp, ash under the sun to choose from - all displayed in glass cabinets. You can order your weed and a pint of beer. You can buy your skins, cigaretes and you can sit down, roll your spliff, build your big head, roll your joint, build a roach - basically, you can smoke to your heart's content. For me it was the first time, so after every drag, I kept looking round for the police or some sort of authority figure to walk up to me and drag me out screaming. But no, it was everyday business. People were sat around smoking, drinking, chilling, talking - no one batted an eyelid. It took me a while to calm down, say after my third spliff or so. By then, I no longer cared.

To wonder around the streets of Amsterdam is an education in itself. I saw no drunk people stumbling in the streets. I saw no hooligans and the couple of lrger louts I did notice were from England. I then quickly pretended to be from some place in Africa just so I couldn't be associated.

After smoking a joint and feeling mellow, the next thing you do is visit the red light districk. MY GOD! On your first trip to the red light district, you will be in shock. Tings, tings, tings..... Upstairs there's tings, downstairs there's tings. There's black tings, white tings - there's Korean tings. In fact, tings from all nations. There's every type of tings on display in neon lit windows with curtains draped....inviting smiles on their faces and no sign of embarrassment what so ever. In fact, I felt embarrassed just looking. It's not very often you get a chance to look into someone's bedroom and eye them up and down for free! Some of the girls were absolutely gorgeous. Some are absolutely ugly. Some looked like someone's mother, some looked like your daughter, and a couple looked like my dreams. Basically, what I'm trying to say is whatever you desire, as far as sex is concerned, you will find it in Amsterdam. Not being gay myself, I didn't feel the need to visit the gay areas but I'm sure if you are gay you would be equally impressed.
