JAGUAR
WRIGHT: DENIALS... DELUSIONS...AND DECISIONS
By Joanna Chaundy
I've
been really looking forward to receiving a bad album, so I can
just tear it apart in my review, but yet again I have been given
an album which I cannot fault, damn!
I've
been listening to this album everyday on my way to work and
have enjoyed almost every minute of it. The album is Jaguar
Wright, 'Denials, Delusions And Decisions.

The
likes of Jill Scott, Angie Stone and Erykah Badu have really
lead the way for artists such as Jaguar Wright to be noticed.
The Country Song is wonderful. Jaguar's really put her mark
on it. It's original and upbeat and a good way to start off
the album.
'Same Shit, Different Day' is a CHOOOON!!!!!!!!!! Part 1 and
2 are both tite! You'll notice that Jaguar, like Jill Scott
has a way of cursing people out with the sweetest voice. There's
an art to that! I personally think that Jaguar is more "street"
than Jill Scott. I can see younger people (as well as an older
crowd) jumpin on her music and lyrics, without a doubt. When
I say younger, I mean a little younger than Jill Scott's audience.

Like
most artists, there's always a duet and she hasn't got just anyone.
She has the "forever blowing up, always good reviews, amazing
live" BILAL. The Prince-like singer has done a wonderful job with
this duet. 'I Can't Wait' is a smooth track and they work very
well together. I'm buggin that I didn't get to see her when she
toured with Bilal in 2001. Damn it! Although, I have a feeling,
this isn't the last we're gonna hear of this girl! I bet money
that Trevor Nelson will BLOW HER UP in the UK!

'I
Don't Know' ft. Black Thought is a more uptempo track with feisty
lyrics. I mean, all us females love a cussin men track on an album
and this one is goooooood! Another track all you girls (who are
beefing with other girls) will LOVE, is 'Aint Nobody Playin.'
Also Ft. Black Thought. It's got a Dre kinda sound to it. Just
listen, that's all I can say.
If
you like Jill Scott and classy girl power, please pick this CD
up ASAP!
I
was pleasantly impressed with this album. Jaguar Wright is a very
talented, cool girl.
Album
drops: Jan 29th
