Phatmag I heard your songs at the gig, and they were good, but why did you only perform half the song?

FK I thought let me give them a little taste of the new single. Funny enough from the amount of people that rang to say why didn't you finish the track? showed that it had the right effect. I didn't wanna give the whole song when its not released.

Phatmag What pushed you to do your stuff as Fredi Kruga? Who financed you? Did you finance yourself?

FK It started off seriously about 5 or 6 years ago. I said, you know what? I've been going to major record labels playing my tapes, doing this, doing that , and they've all got something to say, but yet scared to take a risk. They bank on formulas that already work. So a young black guy doing what I'm doing, they kinda saying "nhaa... I don't know if it can work" and they are kinda scared, so I said forget the majors 'cause they are just big banks at the end of the day.

So I started to checkout distributors, what not, and I came up with 'He's a Dog', which is like a cut to Missy Elliot's, 'She's a Bitch' and Jet Star distributed that. Basically from then, I set up my own company, 'cause I think we as black people, we need to have our own and start doing things for ourself. And now people are starting to hear.
