Phatmag So tell me about the name Fredi Kruga. What was the inspiration?

FK I've had that name from school days man. You know when your growing up when you carrying on unruly and you always getting into fights and all that kinda nonsense, and they were like, "you know what? you kinda remind me of Fredi Kruga" and them days I thought who's that? Not until I saw the films, then I thought O.K. But it got stuck. I even tried changing my name.

Phatmag What were some of the names you tried?

FK Back then I had names like Cool Rock, Barkrooda... em I think that's all I could remember.

Phatmag How long have you been doing this?

FK About sixteen years. I started when RUN DMC and LL Cool J were doing their thing.
