Common & Monie Love @ Subterrania Much respect to Poorang for letting me into the Suberrania on Tuesday night, 9th May. If he didn't, then I wouldn't have got to see Common and Monie Love on the same stage rapping for the sheer love of it. Common is one of Hip Hop's most acclaimed lyricists (who has collaborated with artist such as Lauryn Hill) was in London to promote his new album - 'Like Water For Chocolate', with three nights at the Jazz Café, Camden. At the Subterania during a Universal Records party in his honor, Common bounced on stage with the energy of a sixteen year old and belted out common sense lyrics to the beat of DA drum and DA bass of Hip Hop non stop. In a matter of seconds he had the crowd hyped and jumping. He was joined on stage by the UK's very own Monie Love, (looking delicious) who together with Common, delivered to the eager audience five minuets of freestyle rap the way it's supposed to be.
