Phatmag: But ladies are normally on point with that kind
of stuff.
Charisse: Not I said the cat. I
mean my life is so busy, I have to remember so many things I can't truly,
honestly say.
Phatmag: I know you ladies have
matured since you were first introduced. What would you say have been
your most maturing experience?
Charisse: Recently we went to Memphis
and we saw the Martin Luther King historical museum. It showed us a
lot like, about us as black women, black people in general, from the
beginning of slavery till now, and that was very inspirational and educational,
I think that was the moment for me.
Phatmag: What do you mean when you say inspirational?
Cassandra: It inspired us to do
better things, to do bigger things and to make a difference....

Charisse: There is so much that
they've gone through, from Rosa Parks on the bus, you know what I mean,
to the innocent men that were lynched. You know, this was for us to do
better, all of this was for us to have a say in life, to vote, to do all
those important things. So in music we can make a difference. I'm ready
to just keep striving just because.
Phatmag: Do you think black people are doing better because
of experiences like that?
Cassandra: I think we're trying,
I mean I see us doing better economically and that's the first step, and
once you do better economically then you go back and reach out to the
community and do things with the kids and let them know that they can
do it too, it's a recycling, it has to go in a circle. You just don't
do well and sit up in high places and business' and offices and then you
don't let others know they can do it too, you know kids have to see an
example of good in order to know that it's out there.
Phatmag: Do you guys do any community work?
Cassandra: Yeah! We do all sorts
of events, we go out to speak to kids, out in LA, and in North of Virginia,
we were there not too long ago, doing a seminar about how to get into
the music industry with other kids who aspire to be artist, just to let
them know that anything that they wanna do is attainable. You
know, you just have to focus and set goals. And it's gonna be hard and
we let them know the struggle and stuff that we went through it's not
over night. Every thing might look like an over night success but it's
not.
