LINA

A little Chat with New R&B Sensation "Lina"

It was a cold and wet Friday afternoon in London Phatmag.com were looking forward to finally meeting with the much hyped Atlantic Records new signing "Lina" It all started wrong we were told that we could not take photographs of Lina because she was fed up of putting on make up. So of course the mind started racing, we started speculating whether or not she was busted without make-up.

Well we turned up at the offices of East West records to meet with our contact and were promptly told that Lina was across the road in the Royal Garden Hotel (Nice) So we ran across the road trying not to be late, but no need to worry we were spot on time. As we walked into the hotel room we were greeted by her manager and record company rep and on the mobile phone was Lina "Got to go cos two players just walked in" so we kinda knew straight away that this was going to be a fun interview.

We were so wrong Lina was not busted, she was sweet and absolutely cute without make-up. The poor dear was suffering from the English disease (the flu) which she caught after being forced to endure an interview the day before with our very own Dreem Teem outdoors in the cold.

She seemed genuinely happy to see us which was nice, the room was boiling hot as you can imagine coming from LA to London must mess up your body and mind. Hi Lina how are you and how was the tour with Craig David?

Lina: I've just found out that I'm gonna do Wembley with him, the tour was the bomb. I had one bad night in Amsterdam, when all the power went out, all the power went out on stage

Phatmag: Your kidding,, did this only happen on you?

Lina: On me, the guitar the drums everything, all the lights behind stage went off it took us about 20 minutes to get them back on. And so I thought the crowd were gonna get upset but it was Amsterdam and they were already rowdy, so they were just saying "we want more, we want more" so it was good cause I was like joking around with them it was pretty cool, but I was like scared it was very challenging as to where I was gonna be able to get them back cause it was only in the middle of the second song when the power went out and that's a nightmare.
